Ισχυρό επεισόδιο Nor’Easter στις ανατολικές ΗΠΑ έφερε μεγάλα ύψη χιονιού!

Ενα βαρομετρικο χαμηλο επληξε τις τελευταιες 2 ημερες τις ανατολικες ΗΠΑ, οπου σε συνδιασμο με την υπαρξη αντικυκλωνα βορειοτερα, προεκυψε συνδιασμος και συγκρουση θερμων και υγρων αεριων μαζων με ψυχρες αεριες μαζες απο τα βορεια και ετσι υπηρξαν εντονοτατες χιονοπτωσεις στις περιοχες των ανατολικων ΗΠΑ στις πολιτειες του Μεριλαντ, Νιου Χάμσαϊρ, Κονεκτικατ, Μασαχουσετης και κυριως στις πολιτειες της Νεας Υορκης, του Βερμοντ και της Πενσυλβανια.
Το χαμηλο αυτο ονομαζεται Nor’Easter διοτι οι ανεμοι που φερνει στις περιοχες που πληττει ειναι κυριως βορειοανατολικων κατευθυνσεων. Τα Nor’Easter συνηθως φερνουν μεγαλες ποσοτητες χιονιου ή βροχων σε μικρη χρονικη διαρκεια και αυτο διοτι συνδιαζουν εντονα θερμα μετωπα και μεταφορα μεγαλης υγρασιας απο τον Ατλαντικο και με την υπαρξη αντικυκλωνα βορειοτερα ο υετος εχει την μορφη χιονιου οπως εγινε και τωρα.
Το χιονι μεσα στην πολη της Νεας Υορκης εφτασε τους 25 ποντους περιπου ενω υπηρξαν περιοχες οπου δεχτηκαν και 112 εκατοστα μεσης χιονοστρωσης οπως στο Binghamton της Νεας Υορκης. Τα προβληματα που προκαλεσε ηταν πολλα μιας και δεκαδες χιλιαδες ανθρωποι εμειναν χωρις ηλεκτρικο ρευμα ενω υπηρξαν και 6 νεκροι λογω των χιονοπτωσεων για διάφορους λογους.
