Drakontio Camera

The camera is located in the village of Drakontio in the municipality of Lagakadas, a few kilometers outside Thessaloniki. The camera is located in the sacred chapel of Prophet Elias, at an altitude of 160 meters. The panoramic view of the image is of a southern direction while in the background we can see Lake Koroneia, Chortiatis (Mount Kissos) and the surrounding villages. This beautiful amphitheatrical village is inhabited by 90% Pontians and the hill of the chapel is rumored to have been an observatory of Alexander the Great.
